We celebrate all that God has done with us with lively songs and, as with every good celebration, there is good food on offer. Yes, you've guessed it - spiritual food from God's Mighty Word, the Bible, presented in an understandable way and followed up with application to our daily lives in small groups.
Yes - even the adults have a group in the comfort of the lounge! Well, not too comfortable as God's word often challenges and inspires us for the week to come. There are five young people's groups ranging from just able to crawl right up to teenagers.
Why not come along and give it a try? You would be most welcome.
Sunday Evening Meeting: Starting at 7:00pm
We praise and worship God with contemporary Christian songs and aim to hear from God each week. We aim to follow Paul's advice in his first letter to the Corinthians (14:26) with songs, teaching, revelations, tongues, interpretation and prophecy to help us grow strong. We also pray for each other and generally encourage one another in our faith.
We have a changing monthly plan providing a varied and stimulating programme:
- Word and Worship - A time to worship God and recieve challenging teaching.
- Prayer and Ministry - A time to share both prayer needs and what God has been showing you recently.
- Think Again - An entertaining evening filled with music, drama and personal testomonies.
Sunday Tea: Held at 3:30pm once every couple of months (No morning or evening meeting).
Sunday Tea is an afternoon church service with a free buffet style tea straight afterwards for church members and visitors to the church to attend. The service begins at 3:30pm with a few songs of worship to God. After that we have a few informal prayers and occasionally hear from various members of the church how God has been helping them through the week. A leader will then present, in a fun and interesting way, our main story.
During the service, there are no normal Sunday morning groups. The children and the adults all stay together. After the story, we may have another song or two and then the notices about what's on during the week. The tables and chairs are then re-arranged to accommodate out buffet tea.
Lunches
We sometimes have lunch together on a Sunday. We have a normal 10:30am Sunday Celebration Service with praise, worship, story and morning groups and then, straight afterwards, we get together for a free sit-down meal. It's a great opportunity for everyone to attend and spend time relaxing with friends.
Joint Church Meetings: Every 5th Sunday in the month
Used to meet together with other like minded churches in Portsmouth to pray for the city.
Saturday Morning Prayer
The Saturday morning prayer groups will be resuming their normal times of 07.30 and 08.30am from 11th Sept. These are open to everyone with a desire to support Langstone and the city before God.
